💸 Nassau County Couple Wins $2 Million Mega Millions Prize — Splits Fortune Evenly
A Massapequa couple from Nassau County, New York, is celebrating a $2 million windfall after winning a tier-two prize in the April 15, 2025 Mega Millions drawing.
The lucky pair matched all five white ball numbers to secure what is normally a $1 million prize — but thanks to a 2x Megaplier, their win was doubled to $2 million.

🔁 About the 2x Multiplier
Normally, matching all five white balls wins $1 million, but due to recent changes to Mega Millions, each play now comes with a randomly assigned Megaplier (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x). This feature allows non-jackpot prizes to grow.
“The pair was able to double the standard $1,000,000 Mega Millions second prize thanks to the individual Multiplier randomly assigned to each play at the time of purchase,” said the New York Lottery in a statement.
